Qigong and Dharma
Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:00
Jan 22 - March 26 (10 weeks)
Instructor: Steven Spiro
Many centuries ago, Indian Buddhism intertwined with Chinese Taoism, creating a spiritual system called “Chan”. (When these teachings and practices migrated to Japan, they were called “Zen”.) Over the centuries, many of the physical practices were forgotten by the various cultures. Qigong and Dharma recombines these streams--Buddhist meditation practices with the physicality and teachings of the Tao. This course includes slow, gentle movements, postures, teachings, silent and guided meditations, and some smiling. It’s appropriate for all experience and skill levels. Meditators will find it helpful, as will students of the Dharma, Taiji, and Qigong, as together we open the gates of the body, heart, and mind.
